2019 INTA Meeting in Boston

Looking forward to the Annual Meeting in Boston, May 17 – May 23, 2019.

In addition to attending the Annual Meeting, Tony Bourget will be meeting with attorneys from other countries who have served as foreign counsel to Bourget Law clients. Bourget will also meet with clients and colleagues originating from his participation in past INTA event from San Francisco (2011), DC (2012), Dallas (2013), Hong Kong (2014), San Diego (2015), and Seattle (2018). Next year, Singapore (2020).

The International Trademark Association (INTA) is a worldwide association of member companies and firms that support and advance trademarks and intellectual property as elements of fair and effective global commerce.

The Annual Meeting is the trademark community’s premier global event for continuing legal education, network and client meetings. The meeting will be attended by more than 10,000 delegates from around the world.

2015 INTA meeting in San Diego

Bourget’s involvement in the Emerging Issues Committee (Fictional Trademarks Subcommittee) takes him to INTA’s 137th Annual Meeting held in San Diego, May 2-6, 2015.  Bourget is a member of the Fictional Trademarks subcommittee and will be attending specialty meetings addressing the latest issues of rights in fictional brands, i.e., brands appearing in books or movies apart from commerce in the “real” world.  Think Duff’s beer, Clean Slate software or Bertie Bott’s Beans.

Bourget To Moderate at INTA Annual Meeting in Hong Kong

Attorney Anthony Bourget will be a moderator at the International Trademark Association’s 136th Annual Meeting taking place in Hong Kong, May 10-May 14, 2014.

This will be the International Trademark Association’s first Annual Meeting in Asia, featuring five days of international trademark and intellectual property sessions led by the most acclaimed IP professionals in the world.  Commenting on Tony’s participation in the meeting, Weld, Riley’s President Steve Weld stated, “We are proud Tony is being recognized for his work in intellectual property law.  He is a renowned and recognized expert in his field, both statewide and nationally.” The Annual Meeting boasts more than 8,500 attendees from over 140 countries.

Tony will moderate the table discussion entitled Solo Practice: Trademark and Patent Issues for the Small Business Client.  Tony and Bourget Law, S.C., recently merged with Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci, S.C.

The Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci Law Firm www.wrpr.com was formed in 1991.  The firm practices in all major areas of the law and is comprised of a Litigation, Labor and Employment, Business, Real Estate, Energy, Frac Sand Mining and Minerals, and Government Relations Sections.  The firm employs 80 people and is the largest law firm in the Chippewa Valley and has offices in Eau Claire, Menomonie and Black River Falls.

The Annual Meeting is the trademark community’s premier global event for continuing legal education, network and client meetings.  The meeting will be attended by more than 9,000 delegates from around the world.

Bourget to Present IP Seminars

Bourget Law will be hosting an intellectual property seminar “Cultivating Value and Reducing Risk:  A Business Solutions Seminar” in various Wisconsin and Minnesota locations over the next few months. 

This seminar will cover important aspects of intellectual properties, particularly patents and trademarks, which are used to cultivate business value.  A variety of explanations and tips will be covered that are of common interest to most business owners.  Find out why the recently passed America Invents Act provides at least three incentives to NOT patent your invention.  Learn what every business owner should understand about trademarks; reducing risks of infringement; and ownership disputes.
