Bourget’s involvement in the Emerging Issues Committee (Fictional Trademarks Subcommittee) takes him to INTA’s 137th Annual Meeting held in San Diego, May 2-6, 2015. Bourget is a member of the Fictional Trademarks subcommittee and will be attending specialty meetings addressing the latest issues of rights in fictional brands, i.e., brands appearing in books or movies apart from commerce in the “real” world. Think Duff’s beer, Clean Slate software or Bertie Bott’s Beans.
The International Trademark Association (INTA) is a worldwide association of member companies and firms that support and advance trademarks and intellectual property as elements of fair and effective global commerce.
The Annual Meeting is the trademark community’s premier global event for continuing legal education, network and client meetings. The meeting will be attended by more than 9,500 delegates from around the world.
In addition to attending the Annual Meeting, Tony Bourget will be meeting with attorneys from other countries who have served as foreign counsel to Bourget Law clients. Bourget will also meet with clients originating from his participation in the 2014 event which was held in Hong Kong.
